- First of all, thank god Homer Baily is gone. I know that I was all high and mighty on him last year but I have officially given up. His fastball has NO movement and he has no secondary pitch to go to (aka he is throwing batting practice during the game)!
- The Reds REALLY need Jerry Hairston and Jeff Keppenger back. The Reds' offense has been awful without either of them in the lineup and there is no lead off hitter or spark to this team without them. Hairston in my eyes will be the starting shortstop when he comes back allowing Bruce to move to the second spot (or later in the lineup so he sees better pitches). Keppenger should be playing third (short until Hairston is better) because I still see the same Eddie who pulls off the ball every time. Either that or trade Jr. or Dunn now and move Keppenger to left or right. Either way, this will be a different team when they get back.
- Cory Patterson needs to go somewhere besides in the lineup. I am just confused why they did not start Hopper tonight. Hopper can hit anyone and his first at-bat showed it. Patterson can't hit anyone and his batting average proves it (sub .200).
- Finally, Arroyo pitched much better than his stat line showed. He just gave up some untimely hits but his stuff looked good and he located the ball very well.
